Hope of the World is the Local Church
The Openhouse Project was formed by friends who wanted to reach a segment of the population that wasn’t being reached. Unfortunately, the majority of Protestant churches in Costa Rica (and Latin America, for that matter) are very small, irrelevant, and unattractive – three adjectives that are unappealing and should never be associated with the powerful movement that is local the church.
We are doing things that haven’t been done before to reach a crowd that hasn’t been reached before. By holding bimonthly services in several ballrooms at a Hotel in the City of Escazu, just a few minutes west of San Jose- we are providing an inviting, engaging atmosphere where adults, children and students are hearing Biblical truths that apply to their everyday lives. We have been very intentional about removing barriers of religion and denominations in order to effectively point people to our Savior. Beyond the stage, lights, and loud music, this type of environment allows people from different religious backgrounds to come together to seek, start or return to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Openhouse bases our model and resources after North Point Community Church (see video), one of the most influential churches in the United States who continues to partner with current churches and new church plants to create places where people can connect with their Heavenly Father and step out in faith to follow and obey Him.
